ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
ABOUT ME
I'm a Chartered Architectural Technologist and a Chartered Construction Manager. I have worked in architectural practice since 1988. I was born and raised in Monmouth and I have lived and worked here since returning to the area in 2010, after 20 years living and working in Sussex.
I work predominantly in Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire but I also often undertake projects in Newport, Cardiff, London, Kent and Sussex. The majority of my work is in the residential design sector; domestic extensions, remodels and one off houses, but I also undertake housing development and commercial projects and RICS homebuyer surveys.
I hold a Degree in Architectural design from the University of Brighton and I was elected a Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists in 2003. I am also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building and an Associate member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
I am an advocate of energy efficient design and in 2018 I studied and qualified as a Passivhaus Designer. Passivhaus is a rigorous, voluntary standard for energy efficiency in buildings, which reduces the building's ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for heating or cooling. If you would like to know more about low energy building you'll soon be able to visit my sister website, Equilibrium Passivhaus. Until then you should be able to find some information on energy efficiency in my blog.
I enjoy working with clients to create better buildings; buildings that look better, work better of just feel better. I believe that my most successful work results from enthusiastic clients who are fully engaged in their project.
For the majority of projects I will undertake all survey, design and project management work personally, so clients have the benefit of my direct involvement.
If you have a project you would like to discuss please get in touch.
